Berkeley Unified School District is recognized nationally for its commitment to educational equity and student success. Community Symbol partnered with the district to strengthen the visibility of several initiatives focused on improving outcomes for Black students and creating more culturally affirming learning environments.
Our work included redesigning the UMOJA Program website to better connect with families, developing thought leadership content for the African American Success Project, and designing the district’s annual Black History Oratorical Fest guidebook to encourage greater participation across Berkeley schools.
By combining strategic storytelling, website design, educational content, and community-focused communications, we helped transform complex educational initiatives into engaging stories that inspire families, educators, and school leaders to take action.
The result is a stronger online presence that celebrates student achievement, builds trust with the community, and helps ensure equity-centered programs receive the visibility they deserve.
What we delivered:

- Thought leadership content and digital communications for the African American Success Project
